Environmental Effects and Impact of Climate Change
This Work Package will consider the various potential environmental influences associated with harmonisation and optimisation of skid resistance. Interactions between various factors identified in the other work packages, such as skid resistance, rolling resistance and noise, will be taken into account.
The work package will follow two strands:
- The influence that the provision of harmonised/optimised skid resistance could have on the environment.
- The effect of climate change on skid resistance.
The Work Package will identify which of the factors identified are likely to be most important and establish the extent of current knowledge. From this, areas for further research will be identified and prioritised to optimise the environmental impacts on or resulting from future European harmonised skid resistance strategies.
